How to apply for a UK visa in Austria

Where can I get information?

UK Border Agency and the British Embassies in Warsaw and Vienna work in partnership with a commercial organisation, Worldbridge Services. You can find out whether you need a visa and how to apply through the Worldbridge website. Worldbridge also provides information through an e-mail and telephone enquiry service. The telephone number is 072088 0010 and costs the equivalent of US$14.00. All the information provided is supplied and approved by the UK Border Agency.

If you are calling from within Austria, you can also get information about how to obtain a visa by calling WorldBridge’s user pay phone service at 0900-525219. Trained agents will provide you with visa application information. There is a fee of 2 euro and 16 cent per minute to make this call.

Please note that the Embassy and Consulates are unable to provide visa information to personal callers. Please contact WorldBridge as described above.

Do I have to pay?

Website and email information is free of charge but there is a charge for using the telephone service.

Where can I get advice?

Worldbridge Services and its staff cannot give you advice on how to complete your application, or what type of visa you should apply for.   If you need help with your application or advice about the UK's immigration rules and requirements, you should seek advice from a qualified immigration adviser. In the UK these are immigration advisers regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) or legally qualified professionals regulated by designated professional bodies.  Their websites are:

Law Society of England and Wales
Law Society of Scotland
Law Society of Northern Ireland
Institute of Legal Executives

How do I submit my application?

You should submit your application through our online application service www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ at the Visa Section of the British Embassy Vienna.

Who decides whether I will get a visa?

Your visa application will be processed and decided by UK Border Agency staff in Warsaw. Neither Worlbridge, nor any of its staff play any part in, nor can they influence the outcome of your visa application.  UKBA staff at the British Embassy in Vienna play a key role in processing your application but have no influence over the decision. If any member of staff employed by Worldbridge claim to be able to influence your application you should inform the British Embassy in Warsaw as soon as possible.

Do I need visa?

A quick way to determine if you need a visa is to visit the UK Border Agency Visa Services website and complete the "Do I Need a UK Visa" questionnaire at the bottom of the page. It will tell you if you need a visa and what type of visa you need. It also provides links to guidance documents with details about how to apply for the visa. You will then need to go to the Worldbridge website for details about applying for a visa in your country.
