Disabled access

We are keen to ensure that our buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public. Wherever possible, we have made them accessible, but sometimes this is not possible due to security or other restrictions. In these situations we will try to provide a service or access to a building in an alternative way. To assist disabled visitors, we have set out below details of disabled access at this Embassy. We hope this information is helpful.

General physical access

Wheelchair access: the security perimeter may most easily be accessed by the vehicle entrance at the corner of Jaurèsgasse and Metternichgasse. All floors of the Embassy / UK Delegation / UK Mission main office building, the consulate and the Ambassador's Residence are accessible by lifts from pavement level. However, such access to the main office building and Residence is by side entrances. Visitors wishing to use these entrances are advised to contact reception in advance to avoid delay on arrival: Tel (01) 71613-0.

  • Toilets: there is a toilet for wheel-chair users and people with limited physical mobility on the ground floor of the main office building. An alarm facility is available.
  • Parking: public parking spaces are available in nearby streets, but parking is not permitted in the immediate vicinity of the Residence or office building
  • Floor coverings are safe and even.
  • Handrails: all staircases are provided with handrails.
  • Emergency evacuation: staff will assist disabled visitors in case of emergency/evacuation.
