Translators and interpreters in Austria

1. General Translators and Interpreters

Universitas is the professional association for qualified translators and interpreters in Austria, apart from sworn court translators / interpreters. For details of the latter, please see 2. below. The Universitas website has a search facility (‘Online – Suche’) to help you find interpreters and translators in a wide range of languages, in each Austrian federal province.

2. Sworn Court Interpreters

ÖVGD is the professional association for court interpreters in Austria. Court interpreters not only interpret for their clients in court, but are also the only translators legally authorised to produce certified translations, or sworn court translations, as required by courts and other authorities. The ÖVGD website includes a list of court interpreters in over 40 languages throughout Austria.
